3. THE JOB – COMPETENCIES & COMPETENCY LEVELS
- IDENTIFY COMPETENCIES IN JOB DESCRIPTION – PRACTICAL EXERCISE
- Excel format given for this Exercise
- Identify the Competencies of an Accounts Manager's Job Description by filling in the headings of the columns of the Excel Worksheet.
- The standard Competency Library is provided in the Appendices
- Repeat this exercise with a Job Description of your group's choice; any one from the JDs given in the Appendices.
- Key in the roles, accountabilities in Excel Worksheet provided under JD#1, discuss and fill in the headings of the columns with the identified key competencies that will give that outstanding / superior performance.
- IDENTIFY COMPETENCY LEVELS IN A JOB – PRACTICAL EXERCISE
- Use the competencies identified in the Exercise of the Accounts Manager. Key in the competencies identified in the allocated column of Excel worksheet "Levels Acct Mgr"
- Using the standard Competency Levels provided in Appendices, identify the Levels for each of the Competencies relevant to that position.
- Repeat the Exercise with the competencies identified for the JD chosen in earlier Exercise. Identify the levels for each of the competencies identified.
